Medical/ Surgical Bionic Engineering is the division of Bionic Engineering
that focuses on replacing damaged or destroyed body parts. Prosthetics
and other artificial body parts are a direct product of this division. This
division of Engineering is giving people artificial limbs and more recently
artificial sight. Some scientists have even attempted to combine technology
with the human brain to aid crash victims. Medical/ Surgical Bionic
Engineering deals mainly with the hardware side of the implants.
Computer Science is the division of Bionic Engineering that deals with software and relating
it to human responses. This division of bionics is associated with Artificial Intelligence systems
and cybernetic organisms. Many people argue that the scientists behind these projects are
committing acts of treason against the human race, but mostly this is hype from apocalyptic
movies like Terminator or Matrix. The scientists working on these projects explain that they
are nowhere near creating some sort of neural network or a system aware enough to attack people.
Bionic Engineering is generally a beneficial branch of engineering that is centered on improving
human life and longevity. The only issues are failed hardware and the negative views of Hollywood
crazed conspiratress.
