Professional Monster Truck Driver

Education requirements

Monster truck driver doesn't really require higher education, it just requires to know mechanics, the parts of an engine, etc.
A lot of independent Monster truck drivers have other jobs during the week to bring in extra money so a degree from college would help with getting better pay but is not required.

Work Environment

Work environment consists of being around crew, being around very loud engines, sometimes tight places, thrashing on the truck to fix it by a certain time, lots of tools/mechanical parts/grease/oil, dirt, shreded metal, being around big huge trucks, and methanol infused air.

Salary

Salary for a monster truck driver depends on who you work for. If you are an indepenent, you probably aren't going to make a lot because the money you get from shows goes into fixing the truck. If you drive for Feld Entertainment, owner of Monster Jam (the most popular series of monster truck shows), you will probably make the most money there because Feld pays for the trucks and parts so more money gets paid to you. The average price payed to a driver at a show is anywhere from $2,000-$6,000 a week. But to get those shows you have to put in a bid to the promoters. But if they like what you do at the shows they can refer you to other promoters.
